Introducing the new #CFSocialMediaAward

Social media has fast become one of the main methods of communication between members, Branches, areas and regions. Blogging sites such as WordPress and BlogSpot, and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have become the main outlet for those in Conservative Future to say “Hello! Coo-eey, we’re here!”  They were indeed the life and soul of the recent elections. It appeared there was not one candidate who did not use Facebook or Twitter to win over voters, using blogs such as London Spin, The Blue Guerrilla and Gossip Tory to also push their message across.

But it’s not just elections where members use social media to get themselves heard. I have seen no end of Branches, Areas and Regions with Facebook profiles, groups and pages, with twitter accounts and with other interactive websites. Talent is sparked across the World Wide Web by those in Conservative Future. It is for this reason, that this year, the National Executive is launching “The Social Media Award”. Individual members, Branches, Areas or indeed Regions can be nominated for outstanding use of Social Media. Whether this is to conduct an online campaign, promote the party, recruit members or anything else which has had a lot of effort put into it, if you think someone deserves to be awarded the Social Media Award, then nominate them!!

There will be an opportunity to attain the award each month. We have a list of high profile and experienced judges lined up to help choose the winner. The award will be launched in the next few weeks so keep your eye on the Conservative Future Website and watch this space for details how to nominate etc.
